The Journey Home
Something about Mary this time of year always gets me. Maybe it’s the part were I imagine how she rode on a donkey nearing labor.. or the fear Joseph must of felt as he watched Mary humbly bare through these pains and moments, just becoming parents for the first time. Maybe it’s the part on the journey home.. the days traveling back with a newborn baby. I’m terrified of sickness with my newborn, yet I have medical aide, a warm home, formula if needed, and countless blankets and clothing at hand. How did You do it Mary? It always brings me to tears. I think of postpartum depression and even nursing in her circumstances and many other things a Mother and baby go through during labor, delivery, and the time following.. the weather and elements as you hold your baby boy.. I walk through moments Mary must of and I fall apart.
